AirAquality has developed a new airwashing technology, with a novel drop generation system (Patent Pending) that enables a high evaporation load and high particle collection efficiencies, with low energy consumption.

In the EPA article the Evaporative technology appears to have some advantages, but the type of the evaporative humidifiers evaluated at the time didn't include our clean technology.
A major benefit of our technology is that the airwasher does not contain porous materials. Most competitors with evaporative technology use porous material to increase surface contact area between air and water, in order to achieve better evaporation and cooling. Within the pores of the so-called “wet pads” biological contamination of algae, fungi or bacteria may develop, which may be potentially harmful.
This innovation raised interest in the medical community. Tests performed by MDs demonstrated that respiratory disease patients under home care experienced improvements in comfort and quality of life.
In our innovative process, the air is humidified and cleaned in one single step, with the water acting as the filter. As a result, our airwashers provide the following advantages compared to other evaporative humidifiers or cleaners on the market:
- Hygienic and odorless: There is no filter that over time may accumulate dirt or becomes contaminated with algae, fungi or bacteria. No odors of moldy filters or stagnant water.
- Air filtration: Water purifies the air with higher efficiency through constant mixing of water and air. Only pure water evaporates. The particle collection occurs through an impact mechanism.
- Purification performance: Particles and smoke are removed due to constant agitation of water and air. The impurities removed from the air are collected in the water reservoir, which is replenished every day.
- Environmentally friendly: Consumes less energy than a conventional light bulb. No fluorine coolant pollution. No dirty filters to discard.
- Easy maintenance: There are no filters to clean or to change. The simple design and the easy access to the inside of the device allow perfect cleaning. Wash it with a sponge, and it's clean as new!
- Health and comfort: Significantly improves the air quality of the indoor environment. Provides comfort for people with allergies, respiratory disease or chronic breathing problems, and convalescent patients.
- Elimination of pollen, spores, fungi and bacteria: The majority of pollutants are collected in the washing process and remain in the plastic water tank.
The airwasher increases the relative humidity of the air, which leads to adiabatic cooling of the air. The extent of cooling depends on the properties of the air entering the air cleaner. Dryer incoming air enables more extensive cooling. Depending on the dryness of the incoming air, it is possible to obtain temperature reductions of about 20°F (~11°C).
